Christmas 2008

Tyler got this rocking chair for Christmas. He saw it first and didn't really care about the presents under the tree because he couldn't see what all the cool stuff was. We really enjoyed this year, watching Tyler get all excited for his new toys. He also got a guitar that he puts on his shoulder so he can get the FULL effect of the sound coming out. I haven't gotten a picture of it yet but when I do you will all get to see it on here.

Snow Day Fun

Walking around with daddy. He didn't know what to think of it. Once he got going he wanted to run around everywhere. I enjoyed the snow on Thursday and now we are going to have to take more pictures of todays snow.

The Party Continues

Right before we were leaving, Uncle Daryl was getting showered by Tyler kissing him on the cheek. Tyler knows who his Uncle Daryl is and all three boys are so fun together. Tyler wants to be with the big boys all the time.
We do an elephant gift exchange every year and this year this bag caught Tyler's eye. Grandma Diane brought it and when you push the button on it , the bag blinks and it plays a song. Tyler was rocking out to it through out the night and it kept him busy.

Tyler's new Talent!!!

With the snow days we have been having, Karl stayed home on Thursday and he began teaching Tyler to put one finger up when people ask him how old he is. Today was the first day that we caught it on camera. Grandma Diane asked him how old he is and showed her. My big boy is so cute.

My son is a goof ball. He has figured out how to climb into laundry baskets and he will grab any cloth, including his Daddy's sock and put it in his mouth.
We went to Applebee's for dinner last weekend, just our little family. Things have been so stressful with Tyler's hand. It was nice to see my little man so happy and playful again. I love this smile and I am so glad we caught it on camera.
Yesterday Tyler and I were driving to pick up Karl. Every once in a while I would catch Tyler with his arms up in the air. It took me a minute to realize that he was doing the touchdown sign. Once I parked the car, I grabbed the camera and took pictures of him doing different poses. Does Tyler look like he loves the camera? I think so.
This is Tyler telling his side of the story. You can sort of see his hand in this picture, I think it looks more red in this picture because it was cold outside. He is using it more and it doesn't see to bother him any more.

Burn Update

Karl says that the pictures that we took from Tyler's dr appointment were too gross to put on here. The burn specialists broke the blisters and rebandaged him and during the process he got his very first sucker! He was loving it. Except for the fact that its the safety ones with the paper stick that can so SO easily go completely into my sons mouth. Today was his very first day with no tylenol and he didn't fuss at all until Grandma Nancy helped momma put on the new bandage.

Coping Skills

Tyler has coped very well with his hand being burned. With his hand being the way it is it has stopped him from crawling and now he is walking more and yes as you can see in the pictures he has mastered climbing the couch. Nothing is safe in this house anymore. He climbs up and just laughs at us like he knows a secret that we "grown ups" have no clue about.
One of these pictures is not for sensitive eyes. This is the most recent picture of his blisters. We are still dressing his hand and tomorrow we are going to the doctor to see how it is.

Every time I do the pictures on here they come out in a weird order, so I apologize at the confusion. Tyler had his first ER visit today. We went to my parents house for dinner and then we headed over to Aunt Rachel and Uncle Daryl's house to have desert. Well we were just about to go home, Karl ran to the bathroom and I was following Tyler around the house to keep him from getting into drawers and the cat food and the laptops. When I turned my back for just a minute, ironically I was talking to Rachels sister about baby proofing their house. Tyler screamed bloody murder. He had booked it over to the fireplace and touched the hot glass, thus burning his left hand on his finger tips and the pad just below his fingers. I was so scared. We went to my mom's house again to see if my parents could solve the problem, but even we didn't realize how bad it was. Tyler was still screaming so we went to the hospital. I let Karl drive because he does better driving in a stressful situation than me. They got us in a room asap and they checked out Tyler then brought Tyler Motrin and we waited for about an hour after that then they bandged him up and sent us on our way. Tyler fell asleep for awhile while we were waiting. We had the coolest RN, Joe, who was awesome with Tyler and got his hand wrapped up without Tyler totally freaking out.When we were on our way home I called my mom again and she suggested putting a sock on the hand to keep tyler from messing with it. That peaked Tylers interests and he didn't go to sleep for another half an hour after we got home. He is finally asleep and I am ready to crash. Goodnight everyone.

13 months old

Tyler turned 13 months old on Monday. This picture was taken on Sunday before we went to church. His handsome little suit was given to him by Grandma Diane. What is really surprising is that this outfit is a size 24 month outfit!!!! My dad is 6'4" and Karl and I are both about 6'0", so we know Tyler will be tall too, but I wasn't ready for him to get so big so fast. I enjoy every minute with my Ty guy.

Big Boys

You would never guess that my little Logan Bear is ten months older than my little man Tyler. Its so cute to watch these two play together because Logan wants to show Tyler everything cool. We have visited with Superwoman's family more and Tyler has enjoyed being around other kids he can play with outside of daycare. It has been shocking to me that I was able to hold Logan when he was less than 24 hours old. I held him and talked to him when he was a month old about how he was with my baby, just a month before and I was ready for him to come. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Logan and how directly or indirectly he was involved in Tyler coming. Maybe that was my plea to Heavenly Father. Maybe it was a better understanding of the Plan of Happiness. Maybe it was my patience and faith being tested.
I am so blessed.

Tylers super power

My son is a leaf eater. His teacher knows that I keep the camera with me all the time and so she ran into our classroom, we share a half door and asked me for my camera. This is what she showed me. His expression is priceless. I love him so much.

I love the faces this boy makes. He is getting so much more animated and excited about things around him. We have been trying to take him to the mall's playground to see if he likes being in there. I do have to say that there are too many older children in there who are NOT attended by their parents and the teacher comes out in me and I end up telling them to calm down because there are little kids all around them. GRRRR!!!! We went there tonight with Rian, Morgan and Booga with Tyler and he had more fun with the girls than the last time.

Tyler is very funny. He loves the bath tub and will come walking or crawling as fast as he can just to get into the bath. Karl was giving him a bath and he called me in, its a good thing that I grabbed the camera because I got a great picture.

The Last Diaper

We just want to say thank you to Grandma Diane for buying a years worth of diapers for Tyler. It really was a huge blessing that we didn't realize how much we appreciated until it was over. We would call Grandma and tell her that we needed to see her every month or so and she would happily buy diapers and give lots of loves to little man.
Tyler is doing great and he is laughing and playing and walking all over.

This is very rare for him to smile at school. The only time he does it is when he has just eaten food and I only say hi briefly.

Tyler and momma share a door that opens up half way and he knows that I am there and I check on him often.

Halloween 2008

Tyler had lots of fun at Poppi's house handing out candy to the kids and taking care of Grandma who had surgery.

Tyler loves hanging out with his aunts and uncles. This is Uncle Matt with little man. Tyler sure does know how to wear out all the adults around him. He had so much fun being a pumpkin for Halloween.

Hello I'm ready!!!!

Karl brought the carseat in so that he could figure everything out and switch it to forward facing in the van. As you can tell Tyler sat down in it upside down and didn't care that it wasn't hooked up to the car. We got some good laughs from it.... Birthday pictures coming soon.

I can't figure out why the pictures are coming on here backwards...grr..... Anyway this is a picture of the game we played with the kids. They had to eat the marshmellow without any hands and they all had a blast. I didn't think about how short the kids would be so we all had to hold the kids up so they could even reach them. Tyler had so much fun at Aunt Rachel and Uncle Daryls house for his birthday. We had the grandmas and even Tylers great grandma there, along with lots of kids. Superwoman took all the pictures (thank you) and her boys had a blast. Tyler got spoiled with electronic toys and clothes. He played with his toys (too much sugar) until mommy and daddy were too tired to keep going and then he crashed. Tomorrow is his 1 year dr appointment and he is getting shots. Poor boy. Thank you to EVERYONE for your birthday wishes and help at the party. It was great.
